New to D-Tools Cloud: Inventory Asset Management Webinar

D-Tools Cloud's new Inventory Asset Management system transforms inventory tracking by assigning unique asset IDs and detailed records to each physical unit, enabling precise serial number scanning, QR label printing, location and project-specific allocation, real-time movement logging, installation tracking, loss prevention, faster service calls, recall readiness, and comprehensive client documentation, thereby reducing integrator revenue loss from inventory discrepancies and enhancing workflow integration from receiving to installation.

You can count your gear — but can you truly know it? Which exact unit is installed at a client's site? Where did that returned amp end up? D-Tools Cloud's latest release answers all of this with a brand-new Inventory Asset Management system. Here's what you need to know.

From Counts to Units

The old model tracked how many of a product you had per location. That still works and isn't going away. What's new is that every physical unit now becomes its own record — with its own asset ID, serial number, real purchase cost, warehouse location, and a full immutable activity history. Every move, allocation, and edit is timestamped and tied to a user.

The Workflow, End to End

Asset management plugs into your existing D-Tools Cloud workflow at every stage:

  • Receiving: Scan serial numbers with a USB barcode scanner as items arrive — no manual typing
  • QR Labels: Print configurable QR labels per unit with location, project info, and asset ID
  • Allocating: Choose which specific units go to which project room or phase — not just a quantity
  • Moving: Batch scan units to move them between locations; the activity log updates automatically
  • Installing: Mark items installed and they're checked out of inventory instantly — no extra prompts
  • Loss prevention: Theft, swaps, and ghost inventory are much harder to hide
  • Faster service calls: Know the exact unit installed, its firmware, and install date before the truck rolls
  • Recall readiness: Find every affected unit fast when a product sunsets or recall is issued
  • Client documentation: Export a full serial number list per project — no manual data entry

Why It Matters

Integrators lose 1–3% of revenue annually to missing materials, shrinkage, and inventory discrepancies. Serialized tracking directly addresses that — and more:
